What do the scholars of the Dīn and muftīs of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: What is the ruling on insurance? Some time ago in the past I was involved in an accident, can I make a personal injury claim and would the money received from this claim be regarded as Halal?

ANSWER:
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب
Taking out an insurance policy with a non-Muslim company is completely permissible. After having an accident, it is also permissible to make a personal injury claim and the proceeds received from the claim are Halal.
However, it is impermissible to lie or deceit even a non-Muslim to acquire this money.
