QUESTION:
What do the scholars of the Dīn and muftīs of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: Can the meat of ‘Aqīqah be distributed to non-Muslims??
Questioner: Brother from UK
ANSWER:
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب
The ruling of the meat for ‘aqīqah is like that of the meat for Qurbānī; just how it is prohibited to give the meat of Qurbānī to a harbī non-Muslim[1], likewise it is also the case for giving the meat of ‘Aqīqah to a harbī non-Muslim – just as it is mentioned in Bahār-e-Sharī’at that one should not give Qurbānī meat to a non-Muslim as the non-Muslims here are harbī.
[Bahār-e-Sharī’at, vol 3, part 15, pg 345]
[1] A type of non-Muslim who is not under Islamic Law.
